Dmbook Pro is an indispensable part of the Holiday Inn Exhibition & Convention Centre’s activities. The large conference hotel, located in Helsinki (Finland) and part of the international chain Holiday Inn Hotels & Resort, uses Dmbook Pro since 2014. The general manager of Holiday Inn Messukeskus, Armi Hatakka, does not see a huge congress hotel operating without Dmbook Pro.
For a congress hotel like us, Dmbook Pro is a crucial part of the operations because of the simple information flow it offers. We’re like an information office who guides thousands of customers a day. We use Dmbook Pro among our staff, maintenance and cooperation partners, which helps us stay updated on what happens. Dmbook Pro saves a lot of time when everyone uses it. With only one look you can see what’s going on.
Hatakka considers Dmbook Pro’s strengths to be the possibility to keep in contact with different departments, to track what’s happened where, when and what’s been done. The possibility of signing tasks and documents electronically is also a game changer.
Thanks to the system, you are able to see a problem, be notified of a customer’s request and know immediately whether the task has been done. The search function allows you to check, for example, the history of a particular room or maintenance issue. Also, we can record a client’s request months before they are due to arrive.
We don’t need to tell our customers anymore that we don’t know something. Internal questions, emails and calls have decreased radically, because all the info can be checked in Dmbook Pro. The whole staff uses the system, and is aware of what’s happening. We can search info quickly and improve the customer’s experience. There is no going back to the old way of doing things.
The hotel is located nearby Messukeskus (the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Center). It serves as a strong congress and conference hotel with a restaurant serving thousands of guests. Some of the major events are the international youth football tournament Helsinki Cup, (which is one of the top three sporting events in Finland) and the international start-up event Slush, attracting hundreds of guests every year in November.
When arranging huge events, information flow is very important. We use Dmbook Pro also from our mobile phones whenever and wherever, so we don’t need computers. This makes it possible to inform about quick, last minute changes to part of the staff or to the whole hotel at the same time.
